It’s all about the glo-effect

OUR MISSION

At glo we have a passion for personalized organization and a dedication to sustainable growth. Our mission is simple - to provide our clients with a holistic organizing service that makes a conscious effort to remain kind to our planet.

After experiencing overwhelming pressure for picture perfect aesthetics and irresponsible waste and donation management in the professional organizing landscape, we decided to take a stand. While there are real benefits to reducing visual clutter and surrounding ourselves with beautiful things, we prioritize progress over perfection, systems our clients can maintain and our planet first. We continue to develop relationships with local organizations and sustainable resource centers to make sure we can give new life to the items no longer serving our clients and remain curious in our pursuit to provide the best sustainable solutions for our community.

OUR METHOD

We aim to align the mind, home and environment through decluttering, eco-friendly organizing products, and sustainable systems. By gaining clarity in the things that fuel us, inspire us and serve us best, we can create a clear path to conscious consumption and a strategic flow of the space around us. The more clear intention we put into cultivating a space that works for us - not against us, the more we can reduce clutter, waste, stress, overwhelm and impulse consumption. This is what we like to call Intentional Organizing.

The organization we create for our clients is designed to support the lifestyle they want to lead. Our process is very personalized and unique to each clients’ organizational goals. While we possess a green mindset, we are simply here to guide, support and actualize our clients’ unique organizing goals, while providing sustainable solutions for clients interested in a greener option.

The Founder’s Story

My mom introduced me to many different forms of visual and performing art at an early age. Dance was my first love and a passion that very quickly turned to a profession I dedicated 20 years of my life to. While it was magical and challenging environment to grow up in, I attribute a lot of my creative and leadership sensibilities to my mom’s nurture and my experience dancing, teaching and choreographing in Los Angeles.

As an artist, I’ve always been interested in how our minds work. I decided to get a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from UCLA and a few years after graduating, I was ready to carve out a new career path for myself. Around the same time, as if the universe knew I was ready to shift, I was introduced to the world of professional organizing. This couldn’t have come at a better time by the way. I not only struggled with clutter and a disorganized mind and space, but I was truly in need of a form of self-exploration.

I used the Marie Kondo method to organize our home and immediately caught the organizing bug. I soon began organizing for most our friends and family, and decided to open my own organizing business called Unveil By Design in 2018. I was drawn to the attention to detail, the unique relationships we all have with our things, and how transformative the process was for each person I helped.

I noticed pretty quickly that Marie Kondo’s concept of  “joy” wasn’t resonating for everyone as it did for me. So I continued to pay attention to my clients over time and developed my own method called Intentional Organizing. I.O. simply aligns the general principles of organizing with the client’s deeper intentions. We get granular with goals and visions to build clear intentions that fuel every decision throughout our time together.

I’ve learned that intention is to organizing, what breath is to meditating. The I.O. framework applies this mindset to our work seamlessly and our clients love it!

A few years into running Unveil By Design, I was ready to pivot and pursue something bigger. I wanted to create something with a wider reach and a larger positive impact on our community. Within this time of reflection and exploration, my team and I began to notice that we had the power to divert a lot of waste and donations away from landfills and into more sustainable second homes. We also began to connect inherent parallels between organizing principles and sustainable living. The marriage of both pillars was a AHA moment for us and brought everything we were passionate about together into one entity. With the inspiration and guidance from a close friend and fellow organizer, GREEN LIVING ORGANIZED was created!

With glo, we are SO EXCITED to provide the guidance, support and convenience our communities need to live sustainably through organization, while consistently working to reduce our own carbon footprint. I am personally grateful for the opportunity to share my love of organizing with our community in this way and help prove that an organized lifestyle can be a force for positive change.
